Last summer, Papa saw me reading at my study room and approached me— probably curious as to why I’d chose to spend my summer in front of my desk instead of the TV or out with friends— then saw that I was re-reading Harry Potter for the nth time. He chuckled and said, “You’re 22 and on your way to becoming a doctor and you still read Harry Potter. Will you ever grow out of it?” I looked at him and smiled. “Never.
I grew up with every character in this book— loved, hated, cried and laughed with— and will grow old with them… ‘til the very end. And though many may say that Harry Potter is just a book, it’s a book that has taught me that love comes in different shapes and sizes, that real friendship stands the test of time, that family is family no matter how annoying they can be.
It has taught me never to back down even when things get extremely tough, made me try to see the goodness in everyone, and most importantly, it taught me to dream. Harry Potter has touched not only my, but millions of people’s hearts and opened our minds to a place where our imagination can run free and for that, I am and will forever be grateful. :)
Always,
