Getting this off my chest.
So here’s the thing, I try to ignore it when people complain about changing certain scenes in all the Harry Potter movies, deleting some and sometimes having the script too far from the book. What I can’t stand though is how people complain about the casting of the “kids”. I mean what the fuck guys, why make it such a big deal if Ron isn’t taller than Fred and George and the twins aren’t stocky as described in the book?! Why complain that Emma is far too pretty to play Hermione and Rupert isn’t lanky as Ron?! Even this constant complain that Harry’s eyes should be green instead of blue!
They casted these guys when they were freaking 10 (or so) years old!! How were the casting directors/ producers to know that James and Oliver would grow as tall as they are now and not Rupert? How would they know that Emma would grow up to be a gorgeous woman? How were they suppose to know that Dan would have an allergic reaction to contacts?
I know the whole eyes thing with Harry plays an integral part of the story but it wasn’t because of the color of his eyes instead, because IT LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE LILY’S! And if you look closely, movie!Lily has also blue eyes, not green. So yeah, I think they still got that part right.
Point is, people may argue about the actors they casted as the adult characters but CUT THE CREW SOME SLACK when in comes to the younger actors. Seriously.
